Trinity University Unveils Alumni Career Engagement Office
New office to help empower lifelong growth for Trinity’s alumni

Trinity University is proud to announce the launch of the Alumni Career Engagement (ACE) Office, offering innovative programming designed to support and empower alumni while fostering a culture where “Tigers help and hire Tigers."

“We are thrilled to introduce the Alumni Career Engagement Office to our Trinity family,” said Ryan Finnelly, senior director of Alumni Relations at Trinity University. “This initiative will be a unique and valuable asset to our community and represents our deep commitment to our alumni’s lifelong success, ensuring that every Tiger knows they have the support of a powerful, engaged network.”

Traditional university career services often evoke images of student-focused offices offering limited resources to alumni, but ACE is changing this narrative. By meeting alumni where they are in their professional journeys, ACE is committed to forging powerful, lasting connections with its alumni, equipping them with the tools, networks, and opportunities they need to excel and thrive–regardless of where they are in their career.

Terris Tiller ’00, director of Alumni Career Engagement, is leading the charge as the program’s director, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). Formerly working with Team USA athletes from eight Olympic/Paralympic Games, Tiller successfully assisted athletes in transitioning their careers beyond athletics.

“Career transition and development is a normal part of every professional's experience. I'm excited to build offerings in this space to support my alumni community's lifelong pursuit of career fulfillment. We have already begun to see success through the pilot launch of ACE’s Career Consulting Program—one of our focal initiatives that offers highly personalized, one-on-one consulting to help alumni achieve career development goals,” Tiller explained.

Partnering with Greene and Associates, Inc., a renowned organizational resilience company founded by Barbara A. F. Greene, a Trinity parent of two, the program includes four 60-minute sessions over an eight-week period. During these sessions, participants work closely with a dedicated career coach to develop strategies for career advancement.

Furthermore, program participants will have six months of access to the Greene and Associates, Inc. career portal, which provides a bevy of digital resources, including AI software for resume revisions and interview prep, live and recorded webinars, career assessments, and more. This customizable service is designed to give alumni a flexible and client-centered approach to career success.

“On behalf of the entire Greene and Associates, Inc. team, we are proud to serve as Trinity University’s partner in launching its Career Consulting Program. Our diverse team of career consultants brings a wide range of experience in working with early career alumni to executives as they navigate their careers in an ever changing world,” explained Greene. “This program is one-of-kind, integrating both the human connection while leveraging technology.”

Trinity alumni are already experiencing the benefits of this unique and personalized approach.

“I credit Trinity for providing the resources that helped me launch into my next career phase,” said Amy Nongbri ’96. “After a career break to concentrate on my family, I was looking to re-engage professionally ... I was invited to participate in the ACE pilot program where I was given access to a career resource portal and was matched with a career consultant. During my one-on-one sessions, my career consultant provided resume advice, facilitated personality assessments to uncover my strengths and work style, provided interview prompts and feedback, advised on salary negotiations and ultimately, celebrated my success when I landed a mid-career position at a leading Fortune 100 tech company. My journey back to the workforce has been a collaborative effort, and I’m so thankful to have had the support and resources of the Trinity ACE program.”

In addition to career consulting, ACE is presenting a career-development-focused Alumni College track on October 25, 2024, during Alumni Weekend. This series of events will engage alumni in tangible career-related resources through three professional development workshops: Harness Your Vitality and Get Unstuck, A Career Transitions Workshop; Earning Enough Income: Financial Education & Wellness; and Starting Your Own Business—Where to Begin. Participants will gain valuable insights and actionable strategies to facilitate their career growth. In Spring 2025, ACE and Alumni Relations will host its inaugural Young Alumni Summit for recent graduates looking to grow their network, hone their skills, and get insider tips on navigating the professional world with confidence.

Through career consulting, professional and identity-based networks and meet-ups, peer-to-peer guidance, skill development workshops, webinars, and podcasts, ACE aims to create an environment where everyone understands that the Tiger community is a powerful resource for career advancement and support.

Whether you’re a C-suite executive seeking management strategies, a mid-career professional considering a pivot, a recent graduate searching for your first opportunity, or a Tiger returning to the workforce after a hiatus, ACE is here to support Trinity alumni.
