Board Positions 


Student Programming Board is comprised of various task-forces which focus on specific events. Ranging from Public Relations Chairs to those in charge of all things Traditions, the Student Programming Board works to bring a fun collection of events to Trinity University. All members are required to come to our weekly meetings and meet with the Director/ Adviser as needed.

  • Act as a liaison between the Board and Adviser
  • Serve as a direct contact to all Event Chairs
  • Facilitate activities to provide professional development for the Board
  • Monitor use of SPB budget and overall direction of SPB
  • Organize and facilitate weekly meetings for the Board
  • Send weekly updates to Board members as necessary
  • Interview and select Board members for each term
  • Coordinate with Assistant Director to track attendance at events
  • Act as SPB T-SPACE coordinator
  • Maintain and oversee SPB budget and prepare monthly budget reports for SGA
  • Reconcile budget entries with Adviser each month
  • Maintain P-card expenses and keep related receipts for review
  • Assist Adviser with any administrative purchases and receipt tracking
  • Facilitate check reimbursement/payment process
  • Provide the Board with updated budget information
  • Help prepare the SGA budget proposal yearly in March/April
  • Work with chairs as necessary to purchase give away items, promotional items, or purchasing needs for specific events
  • Assist Concerts Chair with all Concerts-related events and tasks
  • Coordinate with the Adviser, Director, and Concerts Chair to plan Welcome Week Concert
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Coordinate with Public Relations chairs to determine how best to publicize events
  • Delegate planning tasks to other Board members when necessary
  • Assist Entertainment Chair with all Entertainment related events and
  • Host monthly Entertainment Committee meetings with the Entertainment Chair and the Director/Adviser.
  • Assist in planning of all entertainment events as deemed by Entertainment Chair
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Coordinate with Public Relations chairs to determine how best to publicize events
  • Report directly to the Assistant Director
  • Oversee Assistant Outreach Chair
  • Plan monthly small-scale events to bring awareness and visibility to SPB (ex. paletas, themed giveaways)
  • Collaborate with Registered Student Organizations, specifically cultural organizations, to provide financial, planning, and publicity support
  • Ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion are present in all programs sponsored by SPB
  • Serve on the Student Advisory Board within the Diversity and Inclusion Office
  • Manage Outreach budget for each event
  • Oversee Assistant Spirit Chair
  • Oversee Assistant Spirit Chair
  • Partner with Trinity Athletics to plan two (2) spirit events per semester
  • Manage Spirit budget for each event
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Coordinate with Public Relations chairs to determine how best to publicize events
  • Delegate planning tasks to other Board members when necessary
  • Oversee Assistant Traditions Chair
  • Host Traditions Committee meetings with the Assistant Traditions Chair and the Director/Adviser.
  • Strategize, plan, and serve as a point of contact for TigerFest, Chocolate Festival, and Spring Festival
  • Manage Traditions budget for each event
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Coordinate with Public Relations chairs to determine how best to publicize events
  • Delegate planning tasks to other Board members when necessary
  • Report directly to the Assistant Director
  • Manage SPB advertising on LeeRoy when necessary
  • Hang posters and distribute table tents/flyers in Mabee, Coates, and the library
  • Responsible for promotions with yard signs
  • Create and send out biweekly SPB newsletters
  • Place advertisements in the Trinitonian
  • Manage SPB Instagram account
  • Strategize, create, and post engaging content on Social Media platforms to raise awareness of SPB
  • Know all of the resources available for on-campus advertising and understand advertising regulations
  • Schedule meetings with Event Chairs to determine publicity plans for each major SPB event
  • Delegate public relations tasks to the Board when necessary
  • Monitor attendance of Board members at weekly meetings and SPB events
  • Serve as a direct contact to Outreach Team, Public Relations Chair(s): Social Media and Graphic Design
  • Hold monthly meetings with Event Chairs to ensure the proper implementation and execution of events
  • Serve to improve and maintain the morale of the Board (celebrating birthdays, hosting themed-meetings, purchasing snacks, etc.)
  • Facilitate team-building/fun activities per semester during weekly meetings
  • Hold meetings with members failing to uphold SPB attendance standards
  • Present members with “rewards” as outlined by the membership contract when they have gone above and beyond in attendance and performance
  • Hold members accountable to the membership contract
  • Take meeting minutes and distribute to the Board if needed or as necessary
  • Act as SPB Risk Management coordinator
  • Oversee Assistant Concerts Chair(s)
  • Coordinate the music/performance element of all SPB events
  • Research potential musicians/bands to bring to campus
  • Manage Concerts budget(s)
  • Coordinate with the Adviser to plan Welcome Week Concert
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Coordinate with Public Relations chairs to determine how best to publicize events
  • Delegate planning tasks to other Board members when necessary
  • Oversee Assistant Entertainment Chair(s)
  • Host monthly Entertainment Committee meetings with the Assistant Entertainment Chair and the Director/Adviser
  • Research potential passive entertainment acts to bring to campus (comedians, hypnotists, etc.)
  • Brainstorm and implement active, creative programming (festivals, trivia, bingo, etc.)
  • Plan entertainment events for Welcome Week
  • Plan one large entertainment event per semester (incl. Spotlight Talent Show in the Spring)
  • Plan two (2) movie nights per semester
  • Manage Entertainment budget for each event
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Assist in planning of all outreach events as deemed by Outreach Chair
  • Serve on the Student Advisory Board within the Diversity and Inclusion Office alongside Outreach Chair
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Coordinate with Public Relations chairs to determine how best to publicize events
  • Delegate planning tasks to other Board members when necessary
  • Assist in planning of all spirit events as deemed by Spirit Chair
  • Present important information on upcoming events at weekly meetings
  • Coordinate with Public Relations chairs to determine how best to publicize events
  • Delegate planning tasks to other Board members when necessary
  • Assist Traditions Chair will all Traditions related events and tasks
  • Host monthly Traditions Committee meetings with the Traditions Chair and the Director/Adviser.
