Collaboration was in full force at the University Symposium, where 285 faculty and staff brainstormed nearly 300 ideas for Trinity’s next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). From that energy, five key themes that would help shape the student experience at Trinity emerged, including:
- Experiential Learning: Prioritizing hands-on experiences such as internships, study abroad programs, community engagement, and research opportunities.
- Career Development: Embedding career readiness into the curriculum, offering mentoring, professional development, networking, and job shadowing opportunities.
- Student Support and Well-being: Addressing mental health, life skills, financial support, food security, and fostering a sense of belonging and community.
- Ethical and Responsible Use of AI: Integrating AI education, setting guidelines for its use, and preparing students for its impact on future professions.
- Community Engagement: Strengthening connections with the San Antonio community through civic engagement, service projects, and cultural immersion.
If you were unable to attend the symposium, but have an idea you’re passionate about, you can still participate. Choose the option that works best for you:
Option 1: Attend an Ideas Workshop
If you’d like to explore one of the themes above or bring forward your own topic, join an Ideas Workshop. These sessions are collaborative spaces where we’ll begin drafting proposals together. Whether you’re new to the process, a seasoned writer, or somewhere in between, these workshops are for you.
Option 2: Submit a Proposal Virtually
If you can’t attend a workshop but already have an idea you’re passionate about, you can still submit your proposal online.
If you have any questions, please visit the Trinity QEP 2028 Website or email qeptopicselection@trinity.edu.
Quality Enhancement Plans are a key component of Trinity's accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges (SACS). Every university is responsible for creating a plan every ten years that will enhance the quality of education for all students.
