Wow, is Spring really coming to an end? The second semester here at Trinity has truly flown by. The Class of 2017 has moved into their residencies as we completed the Preceptors’ Conference. This Spring has produced countless opportunities to build relationships with alumni, faculty, staff and colleagues. I know I speak for my classmates when I say what a fantastic experience it has been!
In March, the class had the opportunity to attend the annual ACHE Congress in Chicago. It was an unbelievable event filled with both networking and educational opportunities. We want to thank our alumni for affording us this chance to attend and participate. It was something that we will never forget!
Outside of Congress, we had a few teams representing Trinity across the country. I want to recognize the team that we sent to the annual UAB Case Competition in Birmingham. They were faced with a challenging case surrounding high utilizers in inner-city Baltimore. The team put together an incredible strategy that carried them into the semi-finals. On top of that, we also had a team selected to represent Trinity at the annual Cleveland Clinic case competition. They performed incredibly well and advanced to the final round, finishing in 2nd place! We are proud of both teams for their accomplishments and achievements in these competitions. This brings further national attention and recognition to Trinity’s HCAD Program, something of which I am personally proud.
Beyond that, the Second Year students, currently in their residencies, have served as excellent points of contact regarding their experiences. As you can imagine, it has been a very exciting time on campus with the recent Preceptors’ Conference. We have begun the Summer portion and have been enjoying Tiger Tank, our entrepreneurship program. The combination of the case competitions, Tiger Tank, marketing and financial analysis projects have not only challenged our class to manage many things at once, but have pushed us to further develop our health care knowledge base. Shifting into the Summer program, our coursework is focusing on IT, HR and law functions in the health care environment. These classes will further develop us as strong leaders following the program’s tradition of excellence. We continue to grow as a group and produce top quality work in everything we do.
As President of the Class of 2018, I want to once again thank you for the ongoing support of this program. We are honored to have such an engaged alumni network and faculty. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you.
