HCAD Executive Program Expands its Reach
Revamped recruitment efforts target high-quality applicants

The HCAD Executive Program is designed for individuals currently working in a health care setting who have decided to pursue an advanced degree while working full-time. Since the beginning of the academic year, HCAD has revamped its recruitment efforts in order to target high-quality applicants to the program.

As part of these efforts, a campaign called "Executive Potential Identification Challenge" (EPIC) was launched, whereby alumni are challenged to find a rising star in their organization and to introduce them to the Executive Program. In return, the referring alumni will be mentioned in a subsequent issue of the HCAD newsletter "Advantage" and will receive a token of appreciation.

Another program called “Lunch for Two” was initiated this year. Select alumni were invited to participate by taking an individual who may be interested in the program to lunch and to talk with them about their experience at Trinity. They received a ticket with a value of $40.00. After the meal, they were asked to send the ticket with the receipt, and HCAD reimbursed the meal.

Moreover, Ms. Sharon Hubenak, Director of Recruitment and Residencies, and Amer Kaissi, HCAD Professor and Executive Program Director, have organized recruitment trips in the Rio Grande Valley, Houston and El Paso. There trips included presentations at local hospital systems, receptions and dinners, to reconnect with alumni and provide information to potential applicants. More trips and visits are planned for the rest of the year.

As for longer-term efforts, HCAD is considering partnerships with local physician groups as well as with large health systems to guarantee that the most talented executives continue to choose Trinity as their destination for graduate degrees.

If you identify a potential leader in your organization who would benefit from study in the Executive Program, please refer them to Sharon Hubenak at 210-999-8107 or shubenak@trinity.edu. The application deadline is July 1.
