• Dr. Katherine Espinoza is an Assistant Professor of Education at Trinity University. A San Antonio native, Dr. Espinoza grew up as a simultaneous bilingual. She is an educational advocate with research interests in bilingual and multicultural education, Latinx family engagement, and sustaining pedagogies. Her 2019 dissertation research on teachers’ activism earned awards at state and national levels through the Texas Association of Bilingual Education (TABE) and the National Association of Bilingual Education (NABE).  Dr. Espinoza was a dual language maestra in a Title I school for several years. Dr. Espinoza has been published in several journals in the field of education including Equity and Excellence in Education and The Urban Review. She is a proud mamá scholar to her son, Isaac.
