Vincent Maldonado, M.Ed.
- Senior Academic Coach , Academic Success
A native Texan, Vincent was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised in San Antonio. Vincent attended John Marshall High School and then went on to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. While at Texas A&M, Vincent found his passion for education and helping students realize their personal and academic potential. Vincent, a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2017, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in History and his Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Upon graduation Vincent found the wonderful and exciting world of Higher Education! Recognizing that both K-12 students and college students have similar needs, he decided to stick around the higher education world and help his students. Vincent has been an active and engaged member of his departmental teams, working to ensure that both staff and students have the support they need to succeed - both day to day and in the long run. He also values building camaraderie in the spaces he works, striving to strike the right balance between professionalism and lightheartedness. While he takes the work seriously, he never forgets that there is always room for a little fun and a good laugh along the way.
In Vincent’s free time he is a Texas History & Barbecue enthusiast and is always on the hunt for the closest historical marker or newest brisket plate. He enjoys barbecuing and going for some long walks in the Texas sun. He also happens to be an amateur bowler, participating in a weekly league night somewhere around town! You might even see him on TV cheering for the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA season. When he is not doing those things you can find him hanging with his pups and watching some good television shows.
