Economics professor speaks with KSAT News about economic impact of recent tariff implementation
David Macpherson, Ph.D., E.M. Stevens Professor of Economics and chair of Trinity’s Department of Economics, provided commentary to San Antonio’s KSAT News about Donald Trump’s recent announcement of a 25% tariff on imported cars and certain auto parts from other countries. Macpherson refers to the current implementation of tariffs as “economic malpractice.”
“The last time we had this amount of trade war was back in the 1930s,” Macpherson told the news outlet.
