A ladle pours cheese over chips at Nacho Hour
Nacho Hour
University offers endless nachos for one hour every week

Trinity University is “so San Antonio” that nachos are a weekly ritual.

Every Wednesday afternoon at precisely 3:33 p.m., students, faculty, and staff can line up in Coates Student Center for a free nacho buffet. Nacho lovers can treat themselves to a big tub of tortilla chips and buckets of sour cream, salsa, and jalapenos—as much as they can fit into one little paper food tray. Overambitious Tigers might pile their nachos too high and leave a picadillo trail leading out of Coates. Our favorite Aramark staffers serve up different flavors of agua fresca each week. Since starting up in 2006, Nacho Hour remains popular—students race across campus to stand in the buffet line that often stretches out the door.
