development school family. Together Trinity University and SAISD support enhanced learning and teaching for students across the city of San Antonio as well as leadership development of teachers and principals," Trinity President Danny Anderson said.

The model school will create a pipeline of highly trained teachers for SAISD campuses to support all students eager for advance learning. All interns and faculty at the new school will be provided with the professional learning to enable them to earn the state certification in serving gifted and talented learners.

"We are pleased to partner with Trinity University to help fill a critical need in our District," Superintendent Pedro Martinez said. The new academy will help SAISD better serve students seeking advanced learning opportunities.

A new San Antonio nonprofit, City Education Partners (CEP), is providing grants to SAISD and Trinity for the new teacher and innovative school design. The grant funds to Trinity include scholarships for eligible MAT and School Leadership candidates.

"We are so pleased to partner with the San Antonio Independent School District to have the opportunity to help develop a new school filled with best practices and enriched learning for all students, creating an ideal site for the training of our next generation of teachers and principals. We are also grateful for the generous support of the City Education Partners in this new initiative," explains Shari Albright, chair of Trinity’s Department of Education and Murchison Professor of Practice in Education.

The new academy will be located across two SAISD campuses, the Fox Tech campus and the Austin Academy facility. The school will be open to any student who has the interest and desire to take on creative and academic challenges.
