Trinity to Join Casa San Antonio at SXSW
Alumni, guests welcome at inaugural Austin happy hour sponsored by the University

Trinity University is joining the Choose SA nonprofit organization for the first-ever San Antonio-focused event at Austin's South by Southwest (SXSW) Conferences and Festivals by holding an inaugural happy hour for alumni and guests.

The event will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Old School Bar and Grill, 401 E. Sixth St., which will be known throughout the festival as Casa San Antonio and home to various events sponsored by Choose SA.

"We are excited to partner with Choose SA at SXSW," said Michael Bacon '89, vice president for Alumni Relations and Development at Trinity. "Trinity University relishes its location in San Antonio and is a vital part of importing talent to our community. Many companies and startups in San Antonio have been fueled by our graduates. Participating in SXSW is a chance to showcase our fine city and to bring our alumni from all over the world together to celebrate their love for Trinity."

The happy hour is a chance to network with Trinity alumni from around Austin, San Antonio, the nation, and the world. The bar and grill will offer Trinity-themed drink specials and guests will have the option to remain on site when the event concludes for a watch party featuring the San Antonio Spurs as they play the Oklahoma City Thunder. Anyone attending other SXSW events is welcome to drop in.

Products associated with two Trinity alumni will be showcased during the event, including Tequila Avión, which is from the tequila company of the same name run by Trinity graduate Jenna Fagnan '95. In addition, Daniel Lubetzky '90, the founder of KIND Snacks, is donating KIND bars for 100 people.

Choose San Antonio seeks to promote San Antonio to the world and to improve the image of San Antonio both nationally and internationally. The nonprofit's message is that San Antonio is a great place to live, work, and play, with great economic opportunity, a high quality of living, and fantastic cultural and lifestyle amenities.
