Trinity’s David Lesch Discusses the Disappearance of American Journalist Austin Tice with The Economist

David Lesch, Ph.D., Ewing Halsell Distinguished Professor of History at Trinity University, was featured in a three-part The Economist podcast exploring the disappearance of American journalist Austin Tice in Syria. Speaking with Middle East correspondent Gareth Browne, Lesch offered insights on ousted Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and the circumstances surrounding Tice’s abduction. The series examines a decade of uncertainty under one of the most secretive regimes in modern history. A story that could only be reported since the fall of Assad.
