Farewell to the Bookstore — (Re)Introducing the Trinity University Store
Fall semester marks debut of refreshed store, with textbooks now sold online through eCampus

Though we officially said goodbye to the Bookstore in March 2025 with the transition from Barnes & Noble to a new hybrid model, the Fall semester marks the debut of the refreshed Trinity University Store.

When you walk to the Coates University Student Center, you see The Trinity University Store.

You’ll notice updated signage, an expanded selection of Trinity merchandise, and a new face behind the counterstore manager Tony Elizondo. But perhaps the most significant change is what’s missing: textbooks.

Why aren't books sold in the store anymore?

With the move to eCampus, students now order their textbooks online for delivery. This, undoubtedly, is the change that impacts how faculty and students acquired course materials, which previously included the option to go to the bookstore to purchase a textbook.

While this is a significant change, it addresses one of the most common concerns from students that the Bookstore Selection committee considered: the high cost of textbooks.Through eCampus, Trinity now offers:

  • A price match guarantee,
  • Books sourced from multiple vendors (e.g., Amazon, Half Price Books),
  • A shopping experience tailored to your course schedule,
  • And the option to purchase or rent books.

There will inevitably be students who register for a course during Add/Drop. It’s encouraged that faculty include the ebook option, when available. This ensures that the student can acquire the book immediately. On average, physical textbook orders take 2-3 days for delivery. Be on the lookout in October for a call to submit textbook adoptions for Spring semester.

Stay tuned for what’s on the horizon. We are excited to have a space for faculty-authored books at the University Store.

A Store with a Broader Purpose

The new name reflects the Store’s expanded mission. Alongside the physical space, there's also a full online store for added convenience. Not finding what you need in the Store? Try our online store for more options. Coming this semester:

  • A space for faculty-authored books,
  • A self-service kiosk (details to follow),
  • And a print-on-demand online store for custom Trinity merchandise.

“Tony brings more than 10 years of retail management experience and enthusiasm to the role,” says Diana Heeren, senior associate vice president for Finance. “We ask for everyone’s patience during this transition as Tony refines operations, expands inventory, and gets to know the Trinity community.”

“I’m excited to design the store with the Trinity community in mind,” says Tony. “Whether you're a first-year student looking for your first Trinity hoodie or a staff member shopping for a new polo for Maroon Friday, I’m confident you’ll find something to show your Tiger Pride.”
