Hiring Student Workers for Summer 2025

It is almost time to hire student workers for Summer 2025! Before beginning the hiring process in Workday, please review all the updated dates and reminders below.

• All current student workers for the 2024-25 academic year will be terminated after Saturday, May 17, 2025. This process will be completed by Human Resources.
• In order for HR to complete the termination process and update our records, we ask that all managers wait to initiate summer student hires in Workday until Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the earliest.
• Student summer employment dates will be 5/19/25 to 8/23/25.

Please note that students can officially begin working on Monday, May 19, and will still be able to enter time despite Tuesday, May 20, being the earliest date to initiate the hire in Workday. It can be backdated to May 19 when entering it in Workday on May 20.

Important Reminders:

• Open student positions are advertised on Handshake. Please fill out the Google Form.
• Please be sure to select "Student Summer Assistant" as the job profile when hiring.
• For assistance with the hiring process please refer to the Workday: Hire a Student Worker Article.
• Any student who has never worked on campus before will still need to stop by the HR office (Northrup Hall room 210) on their first day to show their original I-9 documents.
