
Robert E. (Bob) Jensen, emeritus Jesse H. Jones Distinguished Professor of Business Administration, died on June 20 following a period of failing health. He was 83.
Jensen joined Trinity’s faculty in 1982, retiring in 2006 after teaching for nearly 25 years. Before earning his Ph.D. at Stanford University, he worked as a CPA for Ernst & Ernst. Jensen then taught at Michigan State University, the University of Maine, and Florida State University before arriving at Trinity.
Jensen earned a slew of awards throughout his career, including the Outstanding Educator Award in 2002 from the American Accounting Association. He was an invited speaker at more than 350 colleges and universities.
Jensen was predeceased by his wife, Erika. He is survived by his three stepchildren, Maria, David, Michael, and their families; his first wife, Jane, and their two children, Lisle (Charles) Moody and Marshall E. Jensen; and two grandchildren, Hilary (Brad) Wilkens and C.J. Moody.
