Trinity Announces New Chief of Staff
University welcomes Kristina Campos-Davis, expert in higher education and communication, to the Executive Leadership Team

Trinity University has named Kristina Campos-Davis, MBA, Ph.D., as the new chief of staff for the Office of the President. Campos-Davis will begin as chief of staff on October 15, 2024. 

“Kristina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in higher education,” says Vanessa B. Beasley, Ph.D., Trinity University president. “She will play an important role as we implement our new strategic plan as one of the nation’s leading liberal arts institutions.”

As chief of staff, Campos-Davis will lead the Office of the President, supporting President Beasley’s work while supervising staff and managing the daily operations of the office. She will also collaborate on university communications to the internal community as well as external stakeholders including alumni. An important part of her role as chief of staff will include helping to facilitate the execution of the University’s strategic plan.

“As one of the most well-respected universities in Texas, Trinity is in the perfect place to be a leader in the future of higher education,” says Campos-Davis. “I am looking forward to joining President Beasley and her leadership team as they take the first steps into a new strategic plan.”

Campos-Davis has more than 20 years of experience in higher education. She is currently the chief of staff to the provost at Baylor University. She previously worked as a strategic communications leader in higher education for seven years, and prior to that, she was a professor of communication and sociology for 17 years. Campos-Davis earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degree in intercultural communication from Abilene Christian University, her doctorate in rhetoric and public affairs from Texas A&M University, and her Master of Business Administration from Hardin-Simmons University.
