Pre-Med + Biology: One-on-one time with faculty

I always knew I wanted to do biology on the pre-med track, and I was really surprised to hear that a liberal arts school had such a strong pre-med track. I was not expecting to find that. But when I talked to some of the STEM faculty here at Trinity, I was able to learn a lot more about those different programs that they had in place for pre-med students and how successful pre-med students were here at Trinity.
About 90% of students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher get accepted into medical school. That's a really good number.
I think something that helps with that is the small class sizes and how one-on-one professors are with students, especially as they're getting ready to apply to medical school. That's something that's really unique about Trinity, and really helps pre-med students succeed here.
And one of the most rewarding experiences I've had is research. Research is such a big part of my life, it’s something I'm really, really interested in. At Trinity, they offer so many opportunities for students to engage with research, and that's something that I really, really like.
Finance: Personalized support and hands-on opportunities

Hands-on learning is very important. It's very interesting. I'm really grateful to be able to go to Trinity and actually learn hands-on.
Finance is a very good major, a very versatile major. It allows you to do a lot of different, unique things that you wouldn't be able to do in other majors. For instance, you can work in finance and health care or finance with computer companies. I'm actually working in finance at Dell this summer.
Having hands-on learning opportunities shows that you have experience, and it shows that you're willing to work. It shows that you're able to put your skills you got from the university into practice.
I’ve also had a pretty good support network at Trinity: They have a lot of accommodations, and they have a lot of tutors. My other options were very big schools, and I don't think I would've been able to get the attention I really needed. These smaller class sizes are very important to my learning.
Computer Science + Business: Building connections across disciplines

Computer Science and Business

When I was looking for colleges, I wanted the academic side and the connections you need after your college life, but having friends was also a big deal. I can't see why you’d ever look for a large school. It might seem like there's more support, or a bigger library, but the personal connection just hits so much more.
At Trinity, I feel like I've learned the differences in how people from different majors communicate, and why we often have interpreters between the realms. Here, I feel like I'm building an experience that very, very few people ever get to learn.
Coming into Trinity, and even since I've been there, I've learned to take aspects of whatever I learn and apply them in every spot. Even with business and computer science, I am looking to incorporate music as a hobby and take what I've learned from that into business and computer science. It feels like I'm learning languages, just interacting with the different sides of that.
I learned about some of the clubs that Trinity has to offer because I'm into making music, such as the broadcasting program, which shares student-made music, along with the composition classes that are available.
Psychology: People who care
Adrian Suarez ’26
Psychology Major
Dallas, Texas
My experience at Trinity has been very welcoming and very interesting, to say the least. A lot of people talk, a lot of people communicate, and people are generally more accepting than others, and it's kind of helped me push myself out of my personal bubble. Trinity has really helped me grow more socially as a person.
I think the beauty that Trinity has to offer really is this sense of family that you have with the people that you strive for greatness with, and it really, really just makes you kind of feel at home.
And the faculty at Trinity are very understanding, and they're very kind. They want to connect with you, they want to relate with you. There’s a deeper level of care than just being concerned about my grades. They're concerned about my academics. They care about you as a person. And I think more schools need professors like Trinity has.
If you’re somebody who's considering Trinity, I say you should definitely take the opportunity while you have it. The school is amazing academically, it's amazing athletically, it's amazing socially. The people here are genuine. The professors here are genuine. You'll make long-lasting connections far beyond the classroom, and far beyond your four years.
