Hiring Student Workers for Fall 2025

It is time to hire student workers for the 2025-26 academic year! Before beginning the hiring process in Workday, please review the updated dates and reminders below.

Student Employment Dates

• Fall and Spring 2025-2026: August 25, 2025 - May 16, 2026
• Fall 2025 only: August 25, 2025 - December 23, 2025
• Spring 2026 only: January 14, 2026 - May 16, 2026

Important Reminders

• If you were unable to attend one of the training sessions, please review the Student Hiring Training Presentation for updates to the hiring process. This includes an update on how to entire the hire for FWS eligible student workers.
• For HR to complete the termination process for students with summer jobs, we ask that all supervisors wait to initiate fall student hires in Workday until Tuesday, August 26, at the earliest.
• Students can officially begin working on Monday, August 25, and will still be able to enter time despite Tuesday, August 26, being the earliest date to initiate the hire in Workday. When entering it in Workday on August 26, it can be backdated to August 25.
• Supervisors are responsible for completing student hires in Workday. For assistance with the hiring process, refer to the Workday: Hire a Student Worker article.

Please note that any student who has never worked on campus before must present their original I-9 documents to the Human Resources office (Northrup Hall 210) on or before their first day of work (photocopies are not accepted). If you're unsure whether we already have an I-9 form on file for a student, please check with HR. Students without an I-9 form on file and the required original documents on campus, ready to present on their first day, will not be allowed to begin work on August 25.
