Introducing Trinity's Workday Learning
A more efficient way to store, access, and track training and professional development

Tired of receiving emails from different companies, e.g. Vector Solutions, KnowBe4, etc, to take mandatory training - not knowing if it is phishing? Frustrated about having to let your supervisor know when your training is complete? Wish there was a way to see all of your completed training in one place and to help track professional development?

Starting now, Workday is your gateway to training and development. To access the Learning ecosystem, you’ll simply log into Workday and select your Learning application in your Menu.

The Workday Learning project, led by Howard dePass Jr. in the Office of Human Resources, worked with a cross-functional team during the past several months to implement Workday Learning at Trinity.

“As someone who is responsible for organizational development, I’m excited to share that Trinity now has a single access point for training and professional development,” says Howard dePass Jr., director of organizational leadership and learning for inclusive excellence.

Who and why will people access Workday Learning?

  • University staff and faculty will access learning at some point at a minimum through mandatory training. However, there’s so much more!
  • Staff and faculty can create paths for professional development opportunities in your department or division, explore recommended courses through Trinity’s LinkedIn Learning, and you can see your completed courses in your Workday transcript.
  • Workday Learning does not replace the great work at The Collaborative. They will continue to coordinate and administer faculty teaching and learning opportunities.

What support is available?

  • Training for all system administrators was completed before Go-Live and reference materials are available for reinforcement.
  • As an employee or supervisor, you can access training materials by logging into Workday and navigating to the Help Center (or typing a keyword in the chatbot) or reach out to Howard dePass Jr. for support.

“This was a team effort and I’d like to thank our colleagues in Environmental Health Safety, ITS, Risk Management, TUPD, Athletics, facilities, and student affairs for your support,” says dePass. “And, a special thank you to our colleagues across campus who helped to test Learning before Go-Live.”

Trinity is a community of lifelong learners who are eager to sharpen our skills, explore pathways to professional growth, and committed to the gold standard in compliance.

Happy learning!
