Annual Traditions and Events

Advent Service and Lunch

When: First Wednesday of Advent
Where: Parker Chapel

A midday service of scripture, hymns, and reflection heading into the advent season. Followed by a lunch in the Chapel reception room.

Christmas Vespers

When: First Sunday of December
Where: Parker Chapel

An always much-awaited and cherished annual tradition at Trinity. A service of lessons, carols, and candlelight featuring the Trinity University Choir and other outstanding musicians from across the Trinity community. Followed by Christmas on Oakmont.

Ash Wednesday Service and Lunch

When: Ash Wednesday
Where: Parker Chapel

A midday service of scripture, prayer, reflection, and the imposition of ashes. Followed by a lunch in the Chapel reception room.

Baccalaureate Vespers

When: Commencement weekend
Where: Parker Chapel

A service held to celebrate graduating students, their achievements, and their futures.

Parker Chapel Organ Recital Series

When: Once a semester
Where: Parker Chapel

Parker Chapel is home to the largest pipe organ in the region. Originally designed by Otto Hoffman, this 116 pipe organ continues its decades of service under the direction and care of University Organist and Professor of Music, David Heller, Ph.D. Each semester, the Chapel continues its tradition of hosting a world-renowned organist. Made possible by a gift from Jane & Arthur Stieren.

The Wilson Lecture Series on Faith and Spiritual Exploration
The Wilson Lecture Series is made possible by a gift granted to Trinity University by James and Mavis Willson in 1961. The series aims to bring speakers to campus who engage the University community in conversations about the role that faith and spiritual exploration can play in forming and empowering lives to have meaning and purpose.
