2024 Open Enrollment
October 30 - November 10, 2023
Benefits open enrollment is the one time each year when employees may make changes to their coverage, enroll in new benefit options, or renew flexible spending accounts without having to demonstrate a qualifying life event.
IMPORTANT: No extensions are able to be made past the open enrollment deadline to ensure carriers can provide your coverage and ID cards by January 1, 2024.

These are highlights of the changes for the upcoming plan year.

- Health Savings Account (HSA)
If you have an HSA and choose to continue for 2024, you will need to elect an annual amount. The Health Savings Account (HSA) expires annually so you must actively enroll if you want this benefit.
2024 IRS Maximum Contributions
Trinity University will continue to contribute $3 for every $1 you contribute up to $100 monthly for employee only enrollment and up to $150 monthly for employee + one and employee + family enrollment in the HDHP plan for 2024.IRS maximum contributions include Trinity University’s contribution.
Individual: $4,150 Family: $8,300 Catch-up contribution (Ages 55+): $1,000
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Program
If you have an FSA and choose to continue for 2024, you will need to elect an annual amount. The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) expires annually so you must actively enroll if you want this benefit.
If you do not have FSA, you only need to take action if you are making changes to or reviewing your current elections. Otherwise, your other current elections will continue.

New Employee Benefits Enrollment
New Employee Enrollment is for eligible employees within their first 30 days at Trinity.
As a new employee, a member of Human Resources will contact you to go through your benefits, help you with enrollment, and answer any questions you have.
Your Trinity benefits are accessible in Workday.
Qualifying Life Event
For eligible life events after the open enrollment period has ended.
After Benefits Open Enrollment closes, changes can only be made to health, dental, vision, or spending accounts within 30 days of a Qualifying Life Event such as marriage, birth or adoption, etc. If changes are not made within 30 days of the Life Event, coverage to these plans cannot be made until the next Open Enrollment period, with an effective date of January 1.
