The University honors our outstanding staff colleagues by selecting recipients for the following awards.
Helen Heare McKinley Employee Excellence Award
A quarterly recognition that celebrates employees who demonstrate innovation, dedication, and a strong commitment to Trinity’s mission and its students.
The McKinley Award, made possible by the Merrymac-McKinley Foundation, honors non-faculty staff who exemplify excellence and embody the values of Trinity University. Honorees are awarded $750 in appreciation of their outstanding contributions. The dates for the awards will be September, December, March, and June.

Recipient Awarded Description Abra Schnur June 2025 Abra has redefined what it means to preserve and share Trinity’s history. As University Archivist, she has built inclusive archival practices, led transformative oral history projects, and mentored students through hands-on research and storytelling. Rachel Boaz Toppel March 2025 Rachel has been a pillar of Residential Life for over a decade. Her student-centered approach, thoughtful use of data, and calm leadership have helped shape inclusive, supportive living-learning communities across campus.
