New students will arrive on campus based on their residence hall assignments. It is imperative that students follow their assigned move-in date and time frame.

Move-in days are a proud Trinity tradition. Residential Life works to make your move-in experience as smooth as possible.

As a result of updated guidelines, all students must be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival to campus. Failure to be tested may result in removal from the residence halls.

    How to register

Prior to arriving on campus, please register with the COVID Health Team via Community Labs

    • Site type: School
    • Site Assigned: Trinity University
    • Address

    Begin registration

    STEP 2:

    Prepare for arrival to campus

    ProtecTU Health Check

Trinity’s ProtecTU HealthCheck is a simple, online questionnaire designed to preemptively screen students, faculty, and staff for potential COVID-19 symptoms or exposure risk.

To ensure a safe move-in process for all, upon arrival all students are required to complete the ProtecTU HealthCheck questionnaire.

    1. Text “Trinity” to 47225, or complete the form online.
    2. Once completed, you will receive a green badge. If you do not pass the screening, the app will provide further instructions and the COVID-19 clinic contact information

Get your essentials ready for check-in

    State Issued ID or Passport
All students are required to bring a state-issued ID (i.e. driver’s license, permit, ID card) or their passport for name and DOB verification at testing check-in.

    Request Accessibility Accommodations
Students needing an accessibility route for testing should contact Esther Esparza at esther.esparza@trinity.edu as soon as possible.

Follow COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines
Students are not required to quarantine before their arrival on campus, but we highly recommend students practice social distancing, follow health and safety guidelines, and avoid large gatherings. Please refer to the Trinity COVID webpage for all FAQ and information.

If you are exhibiting any symptoms or signs of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to campus. Please contact the COVID-19 Health Team at 210-999-8235.

Have your Green Badge and QR Ready
Students must have their ProtecTU HealthCheck green badge ready on their phone at the entrance.

Students must have their COVID Testing QR code ready to scan at the entrance.

    COVID-19 Guidelines and Additional FAQs

We are hoping these are not permanent changes, but these policies will be enforced for at least the beginning of the semester and until it is determined safe by the University to loosen restrictions.

    See Trinity's COVID-19 Guidelines:  gotu.us/covid19

No, you do not have to quarantine/self-isolate in your room until you receive your results, but we highly urge you to follow health and safety guidelines (i.e. wear your mask whenever you leave your room, wash your hands, keep 6 feet distance with others, monitor daily symptoms, and avoid touching your face). In addition, you are not permitted to enter any residence hall or room other than your own.

Students and families should prepare to bring the following items to protect themselves and others. It is very hot and humid in August in South Texas. Be careful of heat exhaustion.

    • Masks or face coverings
    • Water bottles (bring extras!)
    • Hand sanitizer
    • Sunscreen
    • Hat/cooling towel or sweat bands
    • A great attitude!

All students/community members (regardless of vaccination status) will be required to wear face coverings indoors at all times. The only indoor space students will not be permitted to wear face coverings is their residence hall room, and only when they do not have guests over.

No. Students will not receive their Tiger Card, which is also their room key, until after they have tested for COVID-19 at Laurie Auditorium.

Guests may come back to campus starting August 21 but may not enter any building or residence hall, and will only be allowed to drop-off items curbside. Masks must be worn at all times on campus.

If you are bringing multiple loaded vehicles, follow the move-in instructions provided and the route to the residence hall for unloading. If one of your vehicles is empty, park in either Alamo Stadium Lot (east residence halls) before unloading at the residence hall to limit traffic and overflow of designated loading spots. TUPD will assist in directions to the Alamo Stadium parking lot.

No. We are only allowing two guests per student to assist with move-in, and there can only be two guests in the room at any given time. Students may host other Trinity students in their room with a maximum of four (4) persons in a room at any one time. When hosting guests, everyone should wear a mask.

There will be Trinity staff and faculty volunteers stationed at each residence hall to assist in answering your questions, showing you to your residence hall, and greeting you with a warm welcome. These volunteers will be in fun maroon shirts - you can’t miss them!
