Move-In Overview
Move-in days are a proud Trinity tradition where students, faculty, and staff work together to make your move-in experience as smooth as possible. Students will move in based on their residence hall assignments. This helps to reduce traffic and ensure that students have the best access to helpful resources like moving carts and staff support.

New Student Move-in
New first-year students will arrive on campus based on their residence hall assignment on Friday August 22nd, 2025. See the schedule below for the move-in time for your residence hall. New transfer students will move-in on Friday August 22nd from 1pm to 3pm to allow them to participate in transfer orientation events before their peers arrive. New international students will move-in on Tuesday August 19th to participate in international student orientation events.
To help us direct you, write/ print your residence hall name on a sheet of paper and place it on your dashboard- our Trinity Police team will be there to direct you to your hall. Team Trinity (student, faculty, and staff volunteers) will be on site during your move-in window to help get your items to your room- please label all your belongings with your first and last name, residence hall, and room number so we can make sure they get to you when you arrive at your room.
New International Student Move-in
New international students will move-in on Tuesday August 19th, 2025 to participate in International Student Orientation (ISO). For questions about what to expect and how to prepare for your arrival, check out the Orientation and Move-In Overview for new international students here.
Special Program Move-In
Students participating in special programs (such as Skyline Scholars, the Plunge, and the Academic Success Program) will receive detailed move-in instructions with related to their program at their Trinity email address. If you have questions about the move-in for your program, contact your program administrator to learn more.
Returning Student Move-in
Returning students will arrive on campus based on their residence hall assignment on Friday August 22nd or Saturday August 23rd, 2025. See the schedule below for the move-in time for your residence hall. If you are unable to arrive during your move-in window, you are also able to arrive on Sunday August 24th between 8am and 12 noon.
Students in traditional residence halls on lower campus will need to officially "check-in" and get room access added to their Tiger Card at the Witt Reception Center between 8am and 5pm. Students in the apartment-style hall (City Vista) will "check-in" and recieve access and keys at City Vista Front Office between 8am and 5pm.
After-hours check-ins will not be available, so plan to arrive during your move-in window.
Move-in Day FAQs
- What should I pack or prepare in advance for move-in day?
Students and families should prepare to bring the following items to protect themselves and others. It is very hot and humid in August in South Texas. Be careful of heat exhaustion.
- Masks (optional)
- Water bottles (bring extras!)
- Hand sanitizer
- Sunscreen
- Hat/cooling towel or sweat bands
- A great attitude!
- What if we have multiple cars with us?
If you are bringing multiple loaded vehicles, follow the move-in instructions provided and the route to the residence hall for unloading. If one of your vehicles is empty, park in either Alamo Stadium Lot (east residence halls) before unloading at the residence hall to limit traffic and overflow of designated loading spots. TUPD will assist in directions to the Alamo Stadium parking lot.
- Will there be volunteers to help or answer questions?
There will be Trinity staff and faculty volunteers stationed at each residence hall to assist in answering your questions, showing you to your residence hall, and greeting you with a warm welcome. These volunteers will be in fun maroon shirts - you can’t miss them!
